This years letter was no different, except for one exception. As always, it was different than any Christmas letter I have ever done before or will ever do again.
Here's how it went down.
- Had a good year we could actually write about. This is key. If your year sucks, making stuff up is hard.
- Wanted a late 50s - 60s retro Christmas picture of the family. I love that time period, design wise. Racially, it sucked for many, but the men and women of that era look pretty damn good to me.
- Got 3D geek glasses at the movies.
- Shopped at Salvation army and Goodwill for props.
- Supplied many of my own items, too.
- Set up lighting in the living room.
- Photoshopped the resulting picture to add magenta tones, an unsharp mark, and some extra props and art that I could not otherwise obtain.
- Added historically correct technical information and album details to the images.
- Printed on full color and applied to both sides of a paper CD disc jacket.
- Burned 26 lovingly selected retro Christmas hits onto Virtual Vinyl, CDs that look like 45 records. A pack of 50 of these is $20.
- Made sure each sealed and addressed envelope was only 1 ounce.
- Mailed them to you.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
It was very cool Kurt. I look forward to see what you come up with each year!
