October 1999 - Payne Stewart's Lear Jet veers off course. Twenty minutes after losing contact with ground control it is flanked by F16's which follow it until it crashes is South Dakota hours later.

Sept 11, 2001 - What is this guy thinking?

George Bush listens to children being read "My Pet Goat" for several minutes before acting.

Also, interestingly enough, even though the airspace the planes were in is the most heavily patrolled in the United States (the east coast), military planes were unable to find and intercept the planes.

August 2004 - Hurricane Katrina

Clowning around while corpses pile up in New Orleans. Martial law was declared and the National Guard was dispatched to shoot looters and law breakers.

Days later his mother says:

"What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them."

Nuff said.
