The Ultimate Warrior is a Republican

As a kid I loved watching the WWF. Erik and I would come home from church, plunk ourselves down in front of the tube, and watch people beat the crap out of each other. I'm sure Jesus would have approved. We had our heros - Hulk Hogan, Hacksaw Jim Dugan (my favorite) and Rowdy Roddy Piper. And then there was the Ultimate Warrior. A weird powerful guy that looked like he was pumped up on steriods (because his musclues were pinched by colored strings) and a face mask which hid his true identity. He was different, to say the least.

Well, last year I was hunting around and stumbled upon Warrior Web. His website where his distribes on conservative issues are hosted. And he has some pretty strong views, particularly on Terry Schiavo. And that article was well written and insightful:

My sympathies go out to the Schiavos. They really do. But our Founding documents aren’t their daughter’s alone. They are mine. They are yours. They are for ALL flesh and blood, not just for the flesh and blood of ONE. They are for young, fully alive and animated people who have not yet had a chance to experience the freedoms and protections they secure. They are, even more, for those who are not living yet. All of us need to never forget that. People living in tougher times didn't question it or doubt it. Schiavo is brain dead. Her head is literally filled with mush. Never will her mind work to think again. Yet, here we are, so many of us, willing to defend her single, solitary existence, sacrificing our own laws and creating out of thin air empty, unjust ones, while at the same time further breeding a future existence where, one day, human beings with minds that do work and can think will, quite likely, live under a government where they will not even be allowed to do so.
So I gave him his props. Today, though, it occured to me to check his website again. A portion of the rant I found today says:
. . . .You see, Lincoln, shouldn’t be revered as he is. That's right -- no, he shouldn't. He’s really the first President who truly gutted our Constitution and the rights therein granted each individual American citizen. Of course, it’s not the story you will hear. The myth is that the Civil War was fought to end slavery and Lincoln was the brave commander-in-chief with the prescience and fortitude to see it through all the darkness, destruction and death until reached its end. It wasn’t. He wasn't. It was fought because the South wanted to exercise their Constitutional right and prerogative to secede from the Union of the states at the time. Lincoln would hear nothing of it and abused the power of his Presidency to, as well, have no toleration of it. Yes, at the end of the bloody days, with some 600,000 dead and another 400,000 crippled, Lincoln did, indeed, preserve the Union of a United States of America picture-perfect land mass, but politically and philosophically, he took a saber to our concept of sovereign state’s rights and the people’s right to self-government. And, it's a wound succeeding Presidents never let heal; each time it would start to, it was too tempting to follow Lincoln's lead, pick at the scab he left, further bleeding away more of our freedom and liberties.
The South didn't want to secede because they were unhappy with America's foreign policy or didn't like the color of our flag. They wanted to secede because they wanted to own slaves. And if Warrior can't understand that, then maybe that is proof of what happens when you are on the receiving end of a pile driver.
