Allah vs Jesus

Currently in Afghanistan there is a man on trial for converting from Islam to Christianity. Abdul Rahman is to be put to death if his life is not spared by President Hamid Karzai. The way the article reads and Islamic law is believed to be read, converting from Islam to another religion is a capital crime. The constitution of Afghanistan basically says that Islam is the supreme law of the land, but makes an exception that death sentences can only be approved by the President. The Iraq constitution says the same thing. So is this the freedom we are fighting for? The freedom to be killed if you convert to Christianity? The freedom to, as Christian Action says setup a "medieval theocracy that butchers Christians upon the alter of Islam?"

You can try to help by going here to submit a letter of support.

If this guy dies, it won't make national headlines, Bush won't be asked what he did to try and stop it. Life will go on. Christians and Muslim American soldiers will continue to die in Afghanistan and Iraq defending these people's rights to murder each other. Could the world be more screwed up?

Ironically, the Qur'an says this about Christians:

2:62 Lo! Those who believe (in that which is revealed unto thee, Muhammad), and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabaeans - whoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right - surely their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

But switching to Christianity is a no no. OK, now I get it. . .
