Spring is here
The snow blower is back in the shed. The sand table is outside. Svovels have been replaced by rakes. The compost pile is heating up. We took the hay off the garden. The boys and Annika have been playing outside together. We washed the windows with our own windo washing mixture and polished them with 0000 steel wool (the next day it rained). We have the following things to do to finalize our preparations:
- Remulch the garden--we'll try to get with neighbors and order a yard to be dumped on our driveway.
- Fill up our square foot garden boxes with more compost and peat moss. Maybe this year we will try perlite as vermiculite is too hard to get a hold of.
- Fertilize the lawn.
- Bring out the patio furniture. We've entertained thoughts of getting a set that has 5 chairs instead of 4, but we have more pressing needs.

That's pretty good...I have a few more items on my "Outdoor to do list" like cleaning out the gutters, finding some insecticide for the outside of the house, and varmint proofing our gardens.
